Decent, Not Fantastic
KinkD is a decent site, but there are a few drawbacks to using it that just seem unnecessary. It asks you to do things that the vast majority of sites out there would never even consider, and that’s just the beginning. Although it looks like it’s well designed and easy to use, some of the features simply don’t work, the way that they’re supposed to. Using the app can get pretty frustrating pretty quickly and that’s never a good thing when you just want to find likeminded people. The issues can easily get in the way of having a good time.
Huge Issue
The major issue here is that you need to upload an image of your photo ID in order to make your account. It’s a step that almost no one else requires, but there you have it. If you like to protect your own privacy, then this site is going to be a challenge for you. Naturally, they tell you that your identity will be kept a secret, but it’s going to be a leap of faith that a site like this shouldn’t really expect you to make.
At the end of the day, this is a fetish site. It only exists to connect kinky people with other kinky people. That’s not something that you want to be associated with yourself while you’re out and about during your day. Having your secret kinky identity one hack away from being shared with the world at all times is something that should always give you pause!
Bad Filtering
On top of that, the local filtering just doesn’t work. It doesn’t matter how many different times you try it or how many different options you choose, you’re just not going to be getting good results. The people that show up will still be really far away from you and there’s no way around it. It’s not clear why the feature doesn’t work, but it doesn’t. It almost makes the entire idea of trying to use the service a total waste.
If you make the plunge of joining a site like this, then you should be able to find other people near you. If you can’t, then there’s just no point in it. It’s unfortunate that such a simple thing doesn’t work and the people who run the site seem to have no intention of fixing it. If they would acknowledge that they know a problem exists, it would make joining up a much better idea. But for now, they don’t.
Conclusion: KinkD Is Okay, Not Amazing Though
KinkD in itself isn’t really a bad site. Having to upload your ID is a major problem, though. With just a little bit of tweaking, it could be a great platform. As of right now, though, it’s not really worth your time. It’s best to just keep it in the back of your mind. Maybe if you check it out in the future, these issues could have been addressed. Until then, there are plenty of other networks (this one) to spend your time. More than enough of them even cater to the same kinky mindset.
